Lions Club

I am an active member of the University Park Lions Club in Kenner, LA where I have served my club as Secretary, President, Lion Tamer, and a board member. I am currently the Club Secretary, Newsletter Editor, and Club Technology chair. I am a Melvin Jones Fellow and Camp Gold Star Recipient.

I have served my district as the District Technology chair, District Administrator, Cabinet Secretary and webmaster for our district’s website. I’ve done a podcast live from our State convention, promoting the work of the Lions in the state of Louisiana as well as our Lions State projects; the Eye Foundation and the Children’s Camp.

For those of you unfamiliar with what exactly the Lions are, the Lions Club is a service organization founded in 1917 by a Chicago businessman Melvin Jones. He and fellow business members created a club with a motto of “We Serve” as a way to help improve their communities. In 1925 at the Lions International Convention, Helen Keller charges the Lions to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness.” So many times, people associate Lions specifically with their work to fighting blindness solely, but The Lions have many projects that we work on.

Lions clubs can be found in just about every community in the United States, and many countries across the world. For further information aboutt helions, visit any of the aforementioned links, or Lions Clubs International.
